Transfer Center in Żory

The Transfer Center in Żory is an investment that has been designed with residents and travelers in mind. The building has a modern, simple and minimalistic form. There are roadways, sidewalks, bus bays, benches and trees around the building. The glass facade gives it lightness. The clinker in the floor and walls is a reference to the historic old town. Inside, the surface is completely open. Toilets and service premises are hidden in a central point covered with wood. The whole thing has a very modern and light character. The investment is also impressive at dusk. Lighting was appreciated at the Light 2020 Fair.

The building is covered with a large roof. A large roof protects passengers on the platforms from bad weather. Wide hoods protect the interior from overheating in summer, and in winter allow the sun to penetrate inside. It is an economical and ecological solution that allows you to significantly reduce the energy consumption for heating and cooling. VK15 trench heaters were chosen to heat the interior. It is a system dedicated to this type of investment, with large external glazing and an open space. Trench heaters installed along the glass façade precisely heat the interior and reduce heat losses associated with drafts.

The transfer center has received numerous awards and distinctions, incl. was awarded during the Online Gala of the twelfth edition of the Polish Architecture XXL Plebiscite, received an award from the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship in the public utility category in the 21st edition of the Best Public Space of the Silesian Voivodeship competition.
