Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk

Work completion date: 2017
Address: plac Władysława Bartoszewskiego 1, Gdańsk

The Museum of the Second World War is located on Władysław Bartoszewski Square, on the Motława River. It is a unique project due to its history and construction. Over 80% of the investment is underground, above the surface there is a reinforced concrete tower in the shape of an inclined prism, 40m high.

The permanent exhibition is located 14 meters underground. It is one of the largest museum exhibitions in the world. In addition to it, the underground part also houses a temporary exhibition, an exhibition for children, a VR zone, a conference center, a Museum Cinema, a museum shop, a Bistro Museum and a two-level underground car park with 143 parking spaces. In the aboveground part there is a cafe, restaurant, library, educational rooms and offices of the Museum.

The design is modern and symbolic. The underground part symbolizes the past, the square around the building represents the present, and the above-ground part topped with a viewing point refers to the future.

The Museum of the Second World War is a unique place due to its historical character and original design. VKN5 trench heaters assisted fan have been used in modern interiors, which have repeatedly proven their effectiveness in heating this type of investment.
